Water Bug.

My sister took this picture of Kate, in Miami, when they were at the lake one morning and i was waiting at the house for Lucy to wake up. I love it, it shows exactly how kate is in the water, carefree. She LOVES the water... actually 'loves' might be an understatement. She craves the water. She loves to dunk her head under and although floating on her back isn't her favorite water activity, she sure was doing it alot in Miami. Thanks linds for snapping this shot.

I need to let it be know that i do not like cats... i despise them actually.

I entered a scouting adventure contest on this photographers blog... and i WON! So the wonderful Chelsea Albert took us downtown for a mini photo session and for me to practice smizing (smiling with your eyes) for when i try out for america's next top model. j/k. But really, i had a lot of fun being a model for the day. These are my favorite photos. Dye Days...

Have been busy, busy, busy. So this post will be slightly scattered.

1. We took little L to the doc for her 4 week apt, except she was 6 weeks old. The doctor said she is doing great! She is such a mellow baby (takes after her dad), sleeps a ton and only cries when she's hungry. She's started to smile, so Kate and i are always trying to steal a cute gummy smile. Growing wise, she's pretty much on the same path as her sister, i have very healthy babies! At 6 weeks, Lucy is weighing in at 11 pounds and 4 ounces and measuring 22.5 inches long.

2. Went to this bread making class for the 3rd time (yes, it's that good!) and i took my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, daniel's aunt + cousin. We had a great time learning and laughing. These two baking sisters never let me down. If you haven't been, you NEED to go. It's made me really anxious to start making bread again, but i don't have a mixer, i sold my kitchen aid to save up for a bosch... still saving... so if any of you have extra cash you want to donate to a good cause, send it this way and i'll make you a treat! But really, it's on my Christmas wish list... Santa, please be good to me, i've been good all year!

3. I'm obsessed with online shopping and etsy, sorry daniel. I'm more obsessed with getting wholesale lines so i don't have to pay full price, but then i have to by in bulk... so if any of you are interested in purchasing baby legs, pettiskirts, or storksak products, let me know.

4. I'm loving the holiday season and i'm so excited for halloween and taking kate trick-or-treating. We've been baking sugar cookies and going to the pumpkin patch (twice) and picked pumpkins up both times, we've carved and carved and carved, kate loves it, we might be doing it again with friends on saturday! Here's a pic of my lil skeletons right before heading to the patch for the second time.


5. H1N1... what's your opinion? should i get kate vaccinated? People have died from this vaccine, but more people have died from the swine flu... every doctor i talk to has a different opinion. Oh what to do.

6. I hate watching the local news, i was watching it for about 6 mins and all they talked about was people getting killed, shootings, stabbing, random crimes... i'm glad daniel has a gun, and a ccw... don't mess with us!

7. I ordered a small entertainment center for our media niche, in september, they delivered it today, it was damaged... i wonder how long it'll take them to send us a new one. UGH!

8. Kate is always wanting to hold Lucy, i have to watch one of the constantly... although the past few days (after a few time outs where taken b/c she wouldn't listen) Kate has been listening really well when i ask her to leave her sister alone while she's sleeping. Let's hope she keeps it up.


9. Lucy is taking her first airplane ride in a few weeks. The four of us, plus 2 (my mom and bro) are headed to the sunshine state! I was born there and lived in Miami until i was 13 years old. My grandparents and a few aunts and uncles still live there and I haven't been back since i was a junior in high school. As for the the rest of my family, it will be their first time! I am so excited to be there, i am not excited for the 5+ hour plane ride. But i can't wait to see my grandparents, to lay out on the beach and feel the hot humid air, to go to the good ole Metro Zoo and to relax while my aunt and uncles and grandparents hold, play and spoil my girls! I can not wait!

10. I got a new laptop, i know, i'm spoiled... but i'm selling my old one. So i'm working on transferring some files over to my new computer so i can finish posting about lucy's blessing, pumpkin patch with mimi/papa, gb, + rach/dustin. And a few other random stuff...

Lucy's Blessing...

Lucy Pearl Dye was blessed by her dad on October 11, 2009... it was a beautiful blessing and we are so grateful for everyone who could make it.

Sewing...

I just got this book in the mail... it has such cute ideas and sewing projects. I'm really excited about it... now would someone like to teach me how to sew, you know, like tips and tricks?

good ole' utah...

The four of us headed north to Lehi, Utah for conference weekend and natalie's baby blessing. My aunt linda was in town from new york and we thought it would be nice for the whole Pierce family to be together (well except for kyle - he'll be home in 8 months!). We had so much fun hanging out with family and friends. Kate especially loved playing with hailey and tyler, staying up late and sleeping at cami and tanners house (thanks!). We didn't take too many pictures, only a few from Kangaroo Zoo. But we do want to thank lindsey, dave and family for having us, mom, dad, kevin and of course aunt linda for also making a trip so we could all be together, carol and walt for a delicious breakfast on sunday morning, heather and casey for letting us come up stairs for kate to play in the mornings, and cami and tanner for letting us crash in the place for a few days while they were out of town. Can't wait to go back! Well, i guess since it will be snowing, i can wait til the spring, haha.

My In-Laws.

I don't think i could have married into a better family. I really think i have the BEST in laws ever. They are ALWAYS there for me, ALWAYS. I can't even begin to explain how much i absolutely love and adore every single one of them. But most importantly, my mother and father in-law. This little expression of gratitude is long overdue and i have many, many things to repeatedly say thank you for. They are always willing to watch the girls, especially kathie... she is always calling me to see what she can do for me, she's always asking to watch kate, just to give me a break, or offering to watch both the girls so daniel and i can go a a date. She is always so thoughtful and thinks of everyone else before herself. She never minds at all when we come over unannounced and take over her clean house. She is always happy and optimistic. She always looks for the good in people and always encourages us to do our best. She is always wanting to learn new things and she is a great grandma! Kate absolutely adores her and when i tell her we are going to her "mimi's" house her face just lights up. I just can't say enough about my mother-in-law, i can go on for hours about how great she is... Lucky for me, she also raised such a good son (actually 2 sons and 2 daughters, who are all so wonderful). But she couldn't have done it without her other half, who i also adore... Ronny boy, he is one of the hardest working people i know. He loves his family so much and will do anything for us, he is so supportive of our talents and our ambitions and always encourages us to keep learning. He is so sweet and kind, he is the Perfect Grandpa, he just gets it, ya know? When Lucy was born and my mom left after being with us for a few days, ron let daniel come into work hours late so that i could get the extra hours of sleep. He is always so understanding. Kate loves visiting her "papa" at work, she shares his love for black licorice, swimming and relaxing watching a good show.
I am so glad that my kids have such great grandparents on both sides of our family, there's nothing greater than having people in your life who love you so much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We love you soooo much!! (really, what would i do without you?)
