September Update...

A few things we've been doing in September...

We said goodbye to another great vacation in Waterton Lakes, Canada.
Always sad to leave, one week just isn't enough for me.

We got back just in time for Kate to start her 2nd year of Pre School with Ms. Jaime.

Lucy started dance classes... and LOVES it!

We also celebrated her Birthday with many family festivities... including cake in Canada, dinner at Applebee's, fro yo at Menchies, chuck e cheese, dinner at sammy's and cotton candy.

And she got to open up a few gifts.

September has been good to us.

Oh yeah... and we found out that Baby #3 is a BOY! And the girls couldn't be more excited!

The Help.

Saw the Help last week. Absoultely LOVED it! Such a great movie. I loved one of the main characters, her name was Aibileen. The quote below is something she told the little girl she was {basically} raising. It was the cutest thing. So i made a little {11x14} printable of her famous words.

Want one? Click HERE for your FREE 11x14 print! And if you haven't gone and seen the Help...you must! I promise it will not disappoint.

Views of an iPhone {vol. 2}

Life, as seen through the lens of my iphone. Volume 2.

1. This was my outfit for my friend's {sara} 80's Birthday Party.
It. Was. Totally. A. BLAST!

2. My view on the way home from church one Sunday.
I thought it was cool that all over the valley there was blue skies,
but there was a huge storm over the mountain.

3. The same drive home, to my right...
is the strip.

4. Me and my baby.

5. The 3rd tree in our house during Christmas... a real one, freshly cut from Brianhead.
{the photo was taken while the tree was being trimmed.}

6. L* snacking while shopping.

7. I love the way she sleeps in the car.

8. Day 4 of the 8 Days of Dye! {my birthday}

8 and 1/2. Day 8, when they surprised me with the reveal of who they were.
{photo taken by stacie g.}

9. It rain and stormed for about a week straight. I was loving it.

10. L* thinks she knows how to work the computer now.
She's only 15 months old.
She just bangs on the keyboard and moves the mouse around.
{she is getting pretty good on the iTouch though.}

11. Saw this car's license plate and immediately thought of my dad and brother.
{the license plate read: ILUVMLB}

12. Gingerbread houses.
This one is mine. I call it 'A Desert Gingerbread House.'

This one belongs to Kathie and Kate.

We had a lot of fun and Kate got really messy.

13. Lucy chipped her tooth on Christmas Eve.
Lucy and Dax collided on the slide.

This is what happened to him...

No, this photo is not fake.
I hope her tooth isn't stuck inside there.
But don't worry, Dax is fine thanks to some steri strips.
{photo taken by josh b.}

15. And while we are talking about Lucy's injuries...
She also has a cracked skull.

Nothing serious, and it should heal just fine.
How did it happen? Well, we were at the Advance Insurance Christmas Party,
She was sitting in a high chair, decided to climb out and lean back...
which resulted in her crashing down onto the concrete floor.
I'm just glad it's nothing serious. I already felt horrible for not watching her closer.
{Lesson learned.}

14. Breakfast of Champions and bedhead.
Love them.

15. Lucy is more of a climber than Kate was.
I find her up here a few times a day.

16. On Jan 3 we woke up to this.

17. We built a mini snowman and by noon it was the only sight of snow left.

18. Kate is currently obsessed with Rapunzel {and the movie Tangled}.
Here is the dress and hair to prove it.
She wears them constantly.
{and now the hair is getting quite tangled.}

19. And last, just because i loved the tee she was wearing yesterday.
Thanks gap for always have 40% off sales.
And Cami for working at Banana {in primm}

The End.

I've been slacking...

I know... i know oh too well.

I have a ton to tell you.
I have a ton to show you.

My life the past couple weeks has been consumed...
Consumed with...
kids (of course)
keeping the husband happy
keeping a somewhat orderly house
young women's lessons
young women's activities
airbrush tanning
flyers, invites, pricing, etc... in 2 different collections for endless glow
girls camp fundraiser...
which included 65 dozen cinnamon rolls, 52 chicken enchilada meals, 16 chicken alfredo meals, 60 salads and 30 dozen cupcakes
a reception/open house, which i photographed
saying goodbye to some dear friends who will be moving to atlanta
Daniel's birthday
Mother's day
Brit P's birthday

So i do have some reason for my lack of blog posting...
Hopefully i can get myself together, download 2000+ photos onto my computer from my camera, get editing and post something....

Cause i know you are waiting for it.

Til then...
If you haven't read this conference talk (from the priesthood session), then do it... so good.

Custom furniture and a helper.

Ever since we've moved into our house i've been wanting a custom entertainment center. One that fit into our media niche perfectly. One that has BIG drawers for dvds and toys. One that is high, so my tv sits slightly higher than normal. One with a high shelf atop and openings below for each of our media devices. I knew that anything custom comes with a heavy price, that i was not willing to pay. So i searched and searched and searched and finally found one that fit my needs, not exactly what i wanted, but it would work. Ordered it and received it about 2 months later... the first one was broken and they didn't even take it out of the truck so they sent me another one and the measurements on their website and the actual unit were completely off... so i called the company and after a couple of weeks back and forth calls they concluded with giving me my money back and letting me keep it anyway. [so i'm selling it if anyone is interested.]
So after all that hassel daniel said, well lets just get some quotes for a custom unit. So i made some calls and talked to some relatives and friends... got a few quotes, but they were still high for what i wanted to pay. So then sandy and colby suggested i use their friend who does work like this... so he came by, we talked about what i wanted and he gave me a great quote. I was a little skeptical since i hadn't seen any of his work, but it was the best price so i wanted to go for it. Well the hubs said we should wait a few more months and i agreed... so i told sandy and colby to tell rod to put it on hold but that i would for sure want it in a couple months. Well the word never got back to rod that we were wanting to wait a little, and he made it. And i'm so glad he did... so sandy and colby called us one day from work saying that it was already done and he could bring it down on the 9th. So i called daniel and he said ok, tell him to bring it down.
He came around noon on the 9th and installed it.
And let me just say that:
1. i am very much impressed by it.
2. i absolutely love it.
3. so glad it all worked out the way it did.
4. i love, love, love it.
5. i will be calling him in the future if i need anything custom done
6. i can't stop staring at it.
7. totally recommend him for any cutsom/refinishing/cabinet/woodworking work you need done... his name is Rod and his phone number is 435.862.9313 -- email: porterrod@hotmail.com.

Here it is... a beauty right? [the pictures don't even do it justice, you should come take a look at it in person.]

On another note... Kate has been such a good helper lately. She loves being a big sister. She does anything from getting me a diaper to hading me the remote when it is out of reach. Yesterday, i was putting L* down for a nap and i came downstairs to find her washing the dishes for me. It was the sweetest little gesture. And although she was making a bigger mess, the fact that she would think about helping me with that made me smile. She was so proud of herself. I was proud of her. Thanks for making my day K*. I love you so..

Lovin' my two.

I just can't help but talk about these two. They are the loves of my life [well, besides the mister, of course]. At times they can be a bit noisy and high maintenance, but their smiles and hugs make it all worth it, don't ya think? A few thoughts on these two...

Kate...
She is full of life, that girl is.
She is a chatter box... non stop.
She says she wants to be a dancing girl when she gets bigger, oh yeah and a singing girl too.
She dances and sings around the house all. day. long. I love it, i do.
She is so independent, not sure i'm ready for all that yet, but it's coming without permission for me... she puts on her clothes all by herself, she goes to the bathroom all by herself, she goes in her carseat all by herself, she buckles all by herself... you get the picture.
She loves the park and being outdoors, she tells me it's a nice day everyday so that she can go outside and play.

One day last week we went to the park with some friends, mimi watched lucy... we got into the car and Kate said, "ok, mom, it's just you and me," it melted my heart.
She loves to ride bikes.
She is a lover of candyland.
She loves art work and loves to have it displayed for all to see.

Reading is her favorite past time.
Tinker belle is her favorite fairy.
Her favorite color changes daily.
She sometimes starts her sentences with, "actually..." or "well mom..."
When she should be saying "me too" she instead says "me neither"
Painting is a daily activity of hers.
Making her sister laugh is one of her many hobbies.

She doesn't like to fall asleep alone.
She is cranky when she wakes up before 7:30am.
She loves to talk to random people.
She is very polite.
She loves fruit, fruit snacks, pretzels, bagels, eggs and chicken.
When she is mad you can usually get her to laugh or smile within a few seconds.
She is ticklish.
She is a joy [most of the time].
She will be going to preschool in the fall!

Love you Kate.

Lucy...
Is a quiet one.
She is the sweetest little baby ever, really.
She loves to be cuddled.
Her blues catch much attention.
Her face just lights up when kate is around.
She is such a happy baby, especially in the mornings.
She's a good eater, can you tell?
She doesn't know what to think about the bath.
She loves toys and trying to grab them.
She babbles and has mumbled ma ma ma ma ma ma a few times.

She's almost sitting up all by herself.
She loves grabbing her toes and feet.
She loves to sleep [she sleep best in her own bed].
She doesn't quite like having her hair brushed.
She loves all things that rattle.

She doesn't mind the camera in her face.
But she does mind the flash.
She knows and loves her mom, dad and sister.
She is sensitive. [mostly to loud noises or screaming or cheering]
She likes music.

She likes attention.
She loves to smile.
It's a bit of a challenge to get her to giggle.
She likes dogs.
And she LOVES blankets... she loves to be cuddled in them, have them in her hand and by her face.

Love you Lucy.

The end. Thanks for reading.

Brit's Currently...

[as started by cami.]

...happy that her husband has a job.
...waiting for her pants to dry so she can finish getting ready.
...sick and tired of laundry.
...listening to kate as she sings [LOUD] and plays pretend in her kitchen.
...wanting her sewing machine to be fixed so she can finish some unfinished projects.
...thinking about what crafts/things to do with kate so she can pass out valentines to her friends.
...sitting in a loft with toys and books scattered everywhere.
...dreaming of having a white hot chocolate and cinnamon swirl coffee cake from Starbucks.
...trying to decide what to have for dinner tonight and monday night for when we have the missionaries over.
...grateful lucy is napping right now.
...needs to edit photos [ alot of them].
...needs to update her 365 blog.
...hoping that the girlies go to bed early tonight so me and the hubs can cuddle up on the couch and watch some episodes of jericho.
...wishing i was in NOLA for Mardi Gras... guess a party at my house will have to do.
...looking for a good and easy king cake recipe... Mr. Dye says i can't order one from New Orleans [and have it delivered next day] again this year.
