It's Mardi Gras Time...

I have other things to blog about, but when i took this picture i just couldn't wait to share it! Mardi Gras is on TUESDAY and we are so excited! A tradition/celebration that will continue with our family forever... So we decided to throw a party with some of our friends... so i went out and purchased some Mardi Gras decorations and also some costumes for the event, While trying on my costume today and making sure i had everything, kate was very intrigued by my wig and wanted desperately to try it on... and oh did she love it...
Green sure does bring out her eyes. haha!

V-Day Festivities...

Valentine's Day is a pretty low key holiday for us... I just see other holidays more important. It was still really fun... we woke up and i made my loves heart waffles with strawberries and warm maple syrup.



Then we bummed around the house for a while... then daniel took kate to get my car washed so i could have a little nap. Also tried to get some photos of kate, but she wasn't cooperating.

mom: take that out of your mouth
kate: nooooo
mom:please and say cheese
kate: noooo... cheese

we had the roller coster put away for a couple weeks and we brought it back out on v day.

mom: say cheese one more time.

kate: no moe ti-tures(pictues) mama

Then Daniel and the boys went shooting and for dinner we went to Rincon de Buenos Aires with some wonderful friends (daniels high school friends [+ wives], who also roomed with daniel in college which makes them my college friends - needless to say, we all get along great and love to hang out when everyone is in town). And then everyone came to our house to hang out. What a great day!

Baking with Kate.

This week was the first time i've had Kate bake with me... i put on her apron, propped her up on the counter and made some delicious cookies suggested by this friend.

She was more interested in playing with water, but she helped me a little.

Red Rock.

A couple days ago daniel, kate and i took a little ride over to Red Rock Canyon, Kate loves going for rides and especially going off-road where the ride is bumpy. We stopped at the Red Rock overlook and snapped some shots... it was completely freezing but kate was loving it.

Random...

A few random things that have happened in the past month that i haven't blogged...

Took kate to a rebel game and of course dressed her up in rebel red... she slept the entire time in mimi's (grandma) arms!

Went to the OG with steph, kaitlin, aaron, dustin + rachel... we had a blast.
We met up with some of my very best friends from high school, jodi and jonny, at the fashion show to catch up. I hadn't seen either of them since high school!!!

Rain...

We don't get too much rain here in the desert, but the past few days it's been coming down and kate loves to stare out at it. Really it's the cutest thing, she pulls up her baby stroller and takes a seat and is mesmerized by the falling water.
We did make the best of our day indoors by inviting some friends over, playing games and eating pizza. These friends, these friends and these friends (and their kids of course) made it over and we had a blast, thanks guys!
