Park Day in St George.

We were in St George for the big day and while we had some down time, we took the kiddos to the Washington City Park.
These cousins absolutely adore each other!
Kate asks about them constantly.
We wished they lived closer.
But since we are NOT moving to Utah and they are NOT moving to Vegas,
We love meeting in the middle and letting them go crazy for a couple days.

Lucy is obsessed with slides.
She pretty much went up and down the entire time we were there.

Kate and Tyler ran around, chased each other, climbed
and slid down multiple slides and poles.

They calmed down for a bit for me to snap a few face shots.
Ain't he cute? Love my Ty.

This is the youngest of the clan (for now), Natalie.
It took a while to get her to smile.
But i finally was funny enough for her to crack a smile.
She's a beauty.

I loved watching them play.

Last but not least (of the parkinson 3 - almost 4), Hailey.
Not sure if she really likes me.
But she sure did smile for the camera.

I can already tell that Natalie and Lucy are going to be really good friends.
They are about 2 moths apart.
Natalie is older.
I know, i know... you would think opposite,
but Lindsey's kids are always small and my kids are always huge!

They love each other... can't you tell??

They share similar characteristics...
like running from their parents.

oh how i love my nieces and nephews.
Let's get together soon!

Dance.

She loves it!
Craves it!
Asks about it everyday!

She is totally herself when she is in that studio.
She adores her teacher.
She warms up to "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus.
(i even downloaded it for her so she can dance to it daily...
she's converted Lucy to 'putting her hands up,
nodding her head and moving her hips')

Her first recital is in order for June 25th!
They have already started practicing.
I don't now who's more excited, her or me?!

She's a hoot.
She always makes me laugh.
Thanks for being so great, Kate.

xoxo.

Vegas in January.

These days are the reason i live in Las Vegas. High 70's/Low 80's in JANUARY!
We took full advantage and were at the park... for several hours... with a ton of friends!

Swinging is always a must...

The kids also enjoyed digging and getting dirty in the sand,
thanks to the papa's for bringing the sand toys.

Lucy liked running around the grassy fields.

And every few minutes the kids would ride around the loop on their bikes.

Braids.

Kate only lets grammy braid her hair... well maybe she'd let me if i knew how.
Grammy was in town for a few short days a couple weeks ago.
The kids love every minute, no, every second of it.
They never let her take a break.
Thanks grammy for always keeping them entertained... and for braiding their hair!

This is Lucy's first time with braids.
I'm biased, but i think she looked pretty dang cute!

Oh yeah, and Kate thinks she's Lucy's mom, for real.
Sometimes it gets a little annoying.

You can tell when Lucy gets annoyed... because she does stuff like this.

Love these girls.

Preview of...

... a photo shoot with my brothers and sister.

Actually, a couple got hitched! And we were pretty excited about it!
Can you tell?

More photos to come from the big day.
My family is awesome and it makes for good stories.

Mardi Gras Subway Art.

I replaced my Valentine Subway art with this Mardi Gras Subway art!!!

We moved to New Orleans during the heart of Mardi Gras in the middle of my 8th grade year. I spent all of my High School days exploring New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Baton Rouge, the Gulf coast of Mississippi and Alabama... I loved living in New Orleans. I miss it, a lot! I miss my dear friends and all the city has to offer.
Daniel and I got engaged right next to Lake Pontchartrain on May 5, 2005. I haven't been back since Hurricane Katrina ripped through my beloved city. I am planning on making my way back for my 10 year High School reunion next year!

One of my FAVORITE things about NOLA is MARDI GRAS!!! Such a fun time and such a fun experience. I would die to go back sometime in the near future (during MG)... I'd love to dress up my kids and perch them up top a ladder with a big sign that reads "THROW ME SOMETHING, MISTER!" It makes me giddy just thinking about it.

For the past few years i have honored MG by throwing a party with a few friends and their families. We wear masks and beads... we eat and enjoy some legendary king cake.

Anyway, this subway art is a little tribute to all my fellow New Orlean-ians or anyone else who decides to celebrate Mardi Gras! Enjoy.
