Casted...

Someone once said, "I'm surprised at with how many accidents happen to kids, they make it to adulthood alive."
We were getting ready for bed on the houseboat, i was making Kate a bottle and Daniel was following right behind her. She was walking toward the steep stairway (of 4 stairs) that lead to our room, Daniel said to her, " Kate, come here" she looks at him and walks right down the stairs... well thats when she fell. Daniel ran to her picked her up and she seemed just fine... we fed her and put her to bed. The next moring she wakes up just fine, no bumps or bruises. We take her up stairs and put her down. She tries to get up and walk but falls immediately when she puts pressure on her left foot. We knew something was wrong. We got home on Tuesday night and on Wednesday morning i took to to the doctor. He felt around her legs and said he was pretty sure she did something to it... so he sent us to SDMI an x-ray place. We got x-rays of her legs/foot/ankles and went back to the pediatrician. He told us that she had a buckle fracture. He then told me i had to go see an orthopedic. So we went that afternoon, showed him the x-ray and he said that she needed to be casted. (Heather, daniel's cousin who also had a son who needed a cast for a fracture, told me that if she needed to be casted to get a waterproof cast, but the doctors on our insurance don't make water proof casts :( so kate's stuck with a regular cast) At least they let me choose the color... HOT PINK! She will have it on until August 20th when we go back for another x-ray to make sure it's all better. It doesn't bother her at all except that she can't walk. So she's back to crawling for a little bit. Well... here she is... right after the cast was put on... i took these with my camera phone....

I thought she was doing a little better when you guys left, no wonder she just wanted to sit in her little chair! That's so sad, poor little thing.
